Tanya is a West Coast College of Massage Therapy graduate (WCCMT) in 2021.

Many years of her active lifestyle led Tanya to see an RMT for various aches and pains, injuries, as well as general maintenance. During every massage, she would ask questions about how and why the body and muscles moved the way they do and what could be done to help make them feel better. The more treatments she had the more she decided it was something she wanted to pursue as a career.

With her own patients, Tanya strives to work with each person individually to create a plan specific to their needs and goals. She uses a variety of techniques such as active release modalities, Trigger Point Release, and reciprocal inhibition. She is passionate about helping patients with a variety of complex physical and neurological conditions & injuries as well as assisting with improving functional movement in daily activities. During her time at WCCMT Tanya had the opportunity to work in various outreaches helping individuals with such conditions as brain & spinal cord injuries, Multiple Sclerosis, ALS (Lou Gehrigs), stroke, fibromyalgia, cerebral palsy as well as working in the pre and post-natal clinic.

Outside of work and enjoying all that BC has to offer, Tanya loves going to the movies and watching true crime shows. She is a sucker for a good pun and loves random facts, especially if it’s about the human body. Tanya is also a volunteer with a local dog rescue & advocacy. She is currently fostering a wonderfully adorable rescue bully named Marvin, whom she also affectionately calls Meatball. It’s not just humans Tanya enjoys working with – Marvin enjoys his daily massages as he has a spinal cord disorder called Degenerative Myelopathy and needs extra special attention. She plans to continue on a volunteer basis to help the physical health of rescue dogs awaiting their forever homes.
